Pit Bulls

Many don't like them and most are afraid of them. They have a reputation of being a very dangerous dog.  This reputation comes from violent attacks by these animals and negative press reports.  While these dogs have in fact mauled people, it must be made known that "people" through brutal treatment of these dogs, are the cause of these attacks.  It's time to stop blaming the dogs and go after their owners. 

A friend of mine is a veterinarian and made the following comment on this subject;

Behind every pitbull (or other dog attack) there is almost always an inept owner.  The pits are the worst because they have a reputation and the idiots that shouldn't have a dog in the first place are drwn to them because they want a badass dog.  Then they do their best to make sure the dog is a badass. Put it on a chain, tie it out back and give it little to no human contact.  Result!  Dangerous dog. 

They should be prosecuted for asault and bodily harm and made to pay for damages or funeral expenses by confiscation of everything they own.
