SPEACH/TALKING

Demonstration of a persons' inability to speak properly [especially in a public venue ; IE- Kimberly Kagans' 09 Nov '09 C-Span oratory, or any by Maxine Walters, Sheila Jackson-Lee, William Delahunt, Joseph Biden] I refer to the mis or inordinate use of "AAH" or "AHM" (choose your favorite), or frequent word/phrase repetitions.

Talking/Speach - Part 2

Twas the night AAH before Christmas AHM, when all through the AHM house
Not a creature AAH was stirring AHM, not even a mouse; NOT EVEN A MOUSE
AHM The stockings AAH were hung by the AAH chimney with care,
In hopes that AHM St. Nicholas St NICHOLAS soon would be AAH there;

The AHM children were AAH nestled all snug in their AHM beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their AAH heads;
And mamma in her AHM 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

And on and on, add nauseum

I hear ya!!!! It's one thing

I hear ya!!!! It's one thing I try to stay away from myself - being I talk to people for my job.  I do my best to stay away from "ahhh" "ooohhh" and "uuummmm" which means there are some moments of silence, but I find a "bear with me while I figure this out" works and it makes me feel that I am portraying that I know what I'm talking about better then an "uuuhhhhh" moment. Sometimes you have to buy time while the computer does it's thing, or you think of what you want to say (so you don't fudge it up) but you can accomplish that without words like those.

Along the same lines: I love the show Glee, I don't know if anyone else watches it, but the counsellor on there drives me insane. She has this "erm" that she says that it sounds like she's got mental problems or something. Love the show, but when she says it I just want to slam her head off a wall and beat that out of her!!!!!!!!
