okay, so i'm 5'1'' (short), but the deli/bakery/meat counters in most of the major grocery chains are almost to my eye level, then they stack ads and other odds and ends all over the counters making it impossible for the clerks to see me.... until a taller person comes up.....then they walk over and ask if they can help them first....... because they still can not see me. I hate that!

That sucks. Personally I don't have that problem, but the people that come up behind you ought to point out that you were there first, and the employees ought to keep a sharper eye out for people like you.

I'm on the petite side as well. But luckly I don't have a big problem when it comes to the clerk not noticing me, because I just make a point that I am there or was there before the taller person who is more noticeable. So I recommend that if you are being "ignored", "stand tall" and make sure that everyone can see you.

Oppossite problem. I am 6'4" and i am constantly hitting my head on low hanging displays. I am not THAT tall. Hang stuff at least 7 feet high.
