sneezing peeve

it drives me absolutely NUTS when people sneeze way too loud, much louder than necessary.  OR... when they sneeze more than twice in a row.  Combine the two peeves and you have one GIANT monster peeve from which there is no escape.

Oh boo hoo. I don't mean ...

Oh boo hoo. I don't mean to be rude, but sneezing is an INVOLUNTARY bodily function ie. you can't control it. So if you suffer from hayfever (as I do) you find yourself sneezing 7 times in a row, even if you don't want to. It may be your pet peeve, but I think you're being unreasonable

You sound like a bitchy ...

You sound like a bitchy little twit to me.

I have hay fever and don't ...

I have hay fever and don't feel the need to rattle the windows when I sneeze. A little common courtesy isn't going to kill you.

OP- I'm on your side. I've never understood the need to sneeze louder than a marching band.

And another!

And another!

Thanks! Does that mean ...

Thanks! Does that mean you'll go away now?

***REALLY LOUD SNEEZE*** ...

***REALLY LOUD SNEEZE*** ***REALLY LOUD SNEEZE***
***3rd EVEN LOUDER SNEEZE***

K... I'm done now.

hahahahahahahaha...now ...

hahahahahahahaha...now thats funny.

so if someone sneezes do you say "bless you" because some people find that offensive, do you not say anything and risk offending other people, what do you say to people that sneeze constantly?
do you repeat it after every sneeze or do you wait until they are done. What if they fake you out and they sneeze like 3 times in a row, then break for like 5 seconds and then having a sneezing fit.

WHEN DOES THE MADNESS END!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

My son tells me I sneeze ...

My son tells me I sneeze too "enthusiastically" - I tell him if I tried to tone it down with a little snort, my brains would come out my ears.

My family has this ...

My family has this unfortunate curse of sneezing three times in a row in the morning, usually within an hour of waking up. We started saying "Bless you for the rest of the day" when it wouldn't stop at the third one, or would continue on for the rest of the day.
Some people just can't help sneezing - I cover my mouth, and try to face a direction where there aren't people (just incase there are any germ freaks around - wouldn't want to offend them).

Sadly, I'm one of those ...

Sadly, I'm one of those really loud sneezers. I wish I weren't; I'd love to have a sweet, ladylike sneeze! But I don't, and I'm always embarrassed. Now I know my mother was wrong when she told me no one noticed or cared. Great. There goes another hour of therapy.......

LMAO agreed...

Sorry, I bet I did sound like a twit, eh? Hmmm...I just think that trying to stop my reaction to an allergy just so I don't annoy anyone is unreasonable. But hey, sorry if I offended anyone. I was just pretty crapped off yesterday

I totally hate loud sneezes.

I totally hate loud sneezes. The two folks I've heard loud-sneeze the most always seem to use it as an excuse to MAKE THE LOUDEST SOUND POSSIBLE, as if it is intentional. It like a reasonable sneeze with a BIG SHOUT finale. I hate it...especially at work...when it happens multiple times a day and leaves my ears ringing.
