# of U.S. dead in Iraq (more than are reported)
http://icasualties.org/oif/Details.aspx
3790 is the number. You can go to that site and see each one of their names, their age, their date of death, their branch, their rank, where and how they died.
So why is it that we still are being lied to. The last report I heard a week ago said 3500.
It sure was different when we were able to see the full effect of war during Viet Nam when cameras were allowed at Dover airport showing planes loaded to the gills with coffins as they were unloaded. The president then at least had the DECENCY to acknowledge the carnage and attended their funerals. Bush has done neither. He has still not attended ONE SINGLE funeral for any of our fine young men and women who have been killed in his war.

Why don't his daughters ...
Why don't his daughters join? I mean if anyone should stand behind him it should be them right? Although I do support our troops I hate this whole war thing. I think it's ridiculous!
I agree with part of your ...
I agree with part of your rant. I think they're lying because they don't want to discourage us but I think it would be impossible for Bush to attend the funerals. Can you imagine flying all over the country to attend 3800 funerals over the past few years AND run the country?
Bush hasn't attended even ...
Bush hasn't attended even ONE of them. What kind of respect is that for those who lost their Lives due to HIS lies? That's my point. Not even ONE.
But if he went to one ...
But if he went to one everyone would want him to go to them all. But I agree. Plus I don't believe anything he reads. He can't even read what is written for him. He is not very good at speaking. They should just have someone else read his state of the union addresses.
I take it you all are not ...
I take it you all are not fans of the president.
Haha. I am not a very ...
Haha. I am not a very political person I just don't like the war and i don't like hearing him talk. I just don't feel like he is confident in the words he speaks.
As i stated before this ...
As i stated before this government want you to know only as much as it is allowed by their standards... Communism! They will never tell you the whole truth... I feel so sorry for all those kids/young man that had to die for Bush's idiotism... When he is out of the office you will see how many things we will find out that are hidden from us for right now....
There are websites that ...
There are websites that say people died in 911 who have been proven to be alive. There are websites that list names of people killed in Katrina that were later found standing in line trying to scam their way into some of the free money being handed out. WHAT would the govt or anybody else have to gain by lying about how many people have been killed in Iraq? It does not make ANY sense that you are making an accusation that somebody somewhere is benefiting from lying. Seriously dude , the things you say sometimes really make you sound like a 5 year old. I can assure you Bush would like to attend funerals. But psycho's like to go there and verbally assault the families so one could only imagine what those peckersmacks would do if the President was there.
Oh....but the best part is ...
Oh....but the best part is the number of the bad guys that have been taken out. Several hundred thousand or so ?
The bad guys are taking ...
The bad guys are taking themselves and our guys out. They blow up anything and everything. Those people over there are crazy. I feel sorry that our troops are there and not with their families. It's a bit pointless if you ask me. I mean can anyone really give a straight answer as to why our troops are there? Saddam is gone and nobody talks about Bin laden anymore. Hmm. . . .
I'm not saying it's a good ...
I'm not saying it's a good situation. It sux for all. But nobody held a gun to the head of our service men and women and forced them to join. Everybody that has signed up to join the Army or the Marines since the late 80's KNEW they were going to go to war. They should all be commended for making that choice and doing it with courage and pride. They knew the eventuality but they signed up anyway because it was important to them. Well most of them. There's a soldier at Ft. Hood in Texas that has gotten national exposure because he "went missing" while on a solo survival / mapping thing. Ft. Hood is a wide open, flat and treeless. They are treating this as a missing person and are spending millions looking for him. They need to look at his mothers house. The guy is obviously awol.
Go ahead, TGIX, bash Bush ...
Go ahead, TGIX, bash Bush all you want. Jesus Christ himself couldn't reason with you on the Iraq War. This war would have been a hell of a lot
shorter and fewer casualties if the Damned-Old-Crats hadn't gutted the military. I didn't like the way Clinton dirtied the Oval Office (and lied), but he was still my President. I don't like seeing one GI killed, either, but I am sick of the media showing only the bad and not the good. Maybe if you could sit down face to face with an average Iranian you might be surprised. I have talked to many Vietnamese in my area who say we should not have left Viet Nam. I say get the damn politicians out of it and let the military run it. We have reached the point of the analogy of putting a boxer in the ring with his hands tied to his sides and then getting pissed because he can't fight and win.
That's a good one. Blame ...
That's a good one. Blame someone else, again. When the repugs are backed, no scratch that, when they back themselves into a corner, create a horrific mess, when they can't lie their way out of it, when they can no longer hide it or distract from it, they blame someone else.
It's really getting olllllllllllld...
Thinking about ...
Thinking about Chubbymouse's comments a little more I remembered how Afganistan is where the terrorists were that were involved in 911, NOT Iraq. Bin Laden was in Afganistan, NOT Iraq, we had enough troops and equipment for Afganistan, but not Iraq, OH, but Bush said Iraq would be a cake walk. That is HIS mistake, no one else's. He miscalculated BIGTIME, spread our forces WAAAAAY too far. Bush owns the blame for that, he and his repug cronies, no one else.
Advice for the few holdouts like Chubbymouse who actually still support the repugs (and few repugs even support their own policies any longer) Be A MAN. Step up and Admit the mistakes. It takes a man to do that. Are you able?
Since when do two or three ...
Since when do two or three or four or how ever many Wrongs make a right? I don't know about you but my mother always said to me she didn't care how many other kids might want to jump off a roof, that would still not make it right for me to do it.
Wrong is wrong.
It's so easy a caveman could have said that.
And that still doesn't ...
And that still doesn't address the secrecy, not allowing cameras at Dover to show all the body bags.
That WAS done before.
What are they afraid of? Public opinion, that's what.
Such cowards.
If they were in the right they wouldn't have to hide their mistakes.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR ...
I CAN'T WAIT FOR 2008!
hey that rhymes! :)
But I really mean it!
I'll take that a paragraph ...
I'll take that a paragraph at a time Walter -
P. 1 - Different day - Same old excuse. Didn't hold water before, still doesn't.
Troops should be honored not hidden away in shame once dead.
P. 2 - He wasn't voted in either time. It was a scam, a bloodless coup.
P. 3 - You can hold your tongue then. Let's see it. Most people disagree with you and they aren't all wrong. I won't hold my breath for you to hold your tongue though.
P. 4 - If writing here means nothing then why are you so bothered by it? Plus, government certainly does pay attention to blogs. The repugs have issued a request for other repugs to flood the internet with their propaganda. Why would they do that if they didn't think it mattered? Are you one of their minions, the blind following the blind? And, the reason I participate in the marches on DC and write to my congress members and the White House is to be sure they get the message but that won't stop me or others from posting here. We won't be lied to and then intimidated out of speaking up as is the repug tactic. You should know that by now. It's gone way too far.
P. 5 - You tell US what to do to clean up the repug mess? My My, isn't THAT convenient? First things first Bubba. #1 priority right now is to stop the cause of the injuries and then you stop the bleeding. That's how first aid works in a crisis. We are in a gigantic repug created crisis and it will be dealt with by democrats on OUR terms now, not theirs. The repugs have proven their incompetence at everything is of such a high level, that's the only thing they do right is destroying everything and quickly. Now it's our turn. The sooner they step out and stop creating havoc, the sooner we can get on the road to recovery. They haven't done that and so removal of the bastards like Gonzales has to come first. It's getting there. Only one delusional person in all of government still supports that rat bastard and that's Bush - stubborn to the point of actual insanity. He has to go and then things will begin to turn around.
TGIX - you really should ...
TGIX - you really should take your act on the road. Seriously you are the most entertaining and funny guy I€™ve ever sort of met. Your silly rants and conspiracy theories are worthy of Hollywood acclaim. Not to mention you could be a very successful fiction writer. Maybe if America ever votes in a democrat, you could be on Leno or Letterman with your little secret spy stuff. Gore didn€™t win, it€™s been proven over and over, as well as reviewed in every court imaginable and it all showed conclusively that Bush prevailed quite handily. That€™s all I€™ve heard from democrats for 25 + years is how every time a repub wins and election of ANY kind, they are accused of cheating. But it€™s funny how many many more repubs win elections of ALL types in this country over and over , and the democrats ALWAYS say the approval rating of repubs is €œat an all time€ low, yet America as a whole, and collectively has proven over and over they would rather a repub be in office then a democrat. How do you explain this TGIX ? The number of people in the USA that agree with your perception of things, as warped and infantile as it is, is a very very small number. But hey, this is America, and as long as we have a repub in office, your right to free speech allows you to have your opinion.
No offense TGIX but I ...
No offense TGIX but I could have lived another year or so without knowing that the gov't has lied to us yet again. ESP. when my spouse is getting ready to leave for Iraq in three weeks for 15 - 18 months or longer. I am so tired of hearing about death. I don't watch the news anymore b/c of it. I have enough to worry about without you telling me that the death toll was wrong. Please don't mention it again.

TGIX-- I can't do one of ...
TGIX-- I can't do one of the things you required me to do and the other two I choose not to do.
snowkat1995, none of this ...
snowkat1995, none of this is new. Ignorance is not bliss. Still, I hope your spouse comes back to you safely. The whole point of mentioning the lies about the war IS to support our troops. Those who pretend otherwise are not helping them.
No one is forcing you or anyone else to read anything that you don't want to know about. Just remember, this is the U.S. We have free speech that many of us will exercise in order to make this a stronger nation.
Corruption of any sort only weakens it. Exposing that is patriotism at it's finest.
Walter, I can easily ...
Walter,
I can easily prove I was at the marches I said and how dare you suggest anything else. Can I post photos here in the middle of a thread or only when starting a new one. If I can, someone please tell me how and I will. I have some really funny ones too.
There were a good 100,000 at the United for Peace and Justice rally I attended with my son. The ages were from infants on up into the 90's. There was a surprisingly large number of senior citizens there, WWII vets. Marching with Joan Baez was a real treat. Her performance on stage was out of this world. Despite the fact her fingers hurt for her to play guitar these days you would have never known. When she sung Where Have All The Flowers Gone the crowd was mesmerized in a united as one giant united spirit.
The the liberal press, as you would call them, reported only 10-20,000 were there. You can not fill, curb to curb, 8 of those Large Wash. DC blocks including Constitution Ave, Pennsylvania Ave. in front of the White House and the entire section of the Mall grounds around the Washington Monument with that few people. The Washington Post was right-bent, the Baltimore Sun was right-bent in grossly underreporting the turnout. Then, after taking some heat, the Sun (to their credit) did print a story with higher estimates the next day and buried that fact two thirds of the way through the article on an inside page after the damage was already done. People were misled. The cover story the first day is all that most people read. Even today, online, the Sun doesn't report the new subpoenas that just came out which will bring down Gonzales - former White House Counsel Harriet Miers and former Political Secretary Sara Taylor in the justice firing case. If they were truly liberal, they'd surely have reported on that biggest story of the day right there up top in front in bold. By now they might have added the story but it wasn't there even hours after the story broke. Neither did the Post have it. Only CNN and the New York Times are actually reporting the news. And some think that communists have a monopoly on propaganda and hiding the truth. LOL!
