You're right Dawn-- It's when incidents like this get left alone and are allowed to fester. I agree these teens needed a punishment to fit the offense, but I can't see an attempted murder charge when the white teen was well enough to attend a social function the same night. Assault and battery maybe? If this charge stands then the original noose incident should have been charged under federal law as a hate crime. But seriously Dawn--- there are times when I wish the African-American community would tell Jackson and Sharpton to stay away. I think they have done more harm to people of color than they have done good the past few years.

you need to get your facts straight, it's NOT the fact that they beat him up that they are protesting, but that they were charged with attempted murder. it was WRONG for them to beat the boy up but a few weeks earlier a similar fight happened and NO ONE was charged in that fight AT ALL!! because some white kids beat up a black kid and nothing happened. but the other way around and now it's a manhunt to send them all to prison for life! the white boy who DID get beat up was fine enough later in the day to attend a school function THAT NIGHT! why are those boys being charged with attempted MURDER? THAT is what's not fair. nobody is saying that beating anyone up is ok. but let the punishment FIT the crime and why have they let all out on bail EXCEPT one!

AND you're WRONG when you say they didn't know who put the nooses in the tree, the principal recommend EXPULSION for the 3 kids but the school board OVERTURNED the ruling and issued them an "IN SCHOOL SUSPENSION" INSTEAD!!!! that is a hate crime, maybe not legally on the books but it is intended to give the message of HATE!

It's a shame. It was a good thing. No THAT IS gone forever. Sometimes you should just leave unbroken things unbroken. Now, you all are going to lose the financial asses you put on the line for this "upgrade." I hope they have other investments because this one was a bust.

you REALLY NEED to learn to read. I said in the FIRST comment in my 2nd sentence that they were wrong for beating him up! this wasn't MONTHS either, this was within the first month or two of the last school year when all this happened between the nooses and the fightS, plural, fightS, black on white AND white on black! truth be told that the boy who was beat up had been "allegedly" taunting these boys about the noose incident, as I said in my 5th comment. he had to expect that by teasing people that it was gonna turn around on him, BUT it still doesn't make it RIGHT BUT, as I said before, it explains WHY they attacked him, they were being teased and boys don't handle things the mature way, I DON'T think it was attempted MURDER! THAT is my point as I said above too!

yes, they are prob the reason it was all blown up so much! but with things as bad as they are, from the media and others, they needed the extra publicity to hopefully get the "right" justice.
