Maggie The Elephant
So ya'll know about Maggie by now, our lone elephant that the Bunny-humpers keep telling us we can't have... They have stooped to a new low. Bob Barker, that's right, The Price is Right Bob Barker, has come to Alaska because of Maggie. I'm not sure what he's trying to accomplish - if he's here to get her out, or if he just wants her spayed... I'm looking for some news on it, but according to the radio (which sent someone to his "press conference") there were a whopping 4 people there....

All zoos suck, that's no reason to take Maggie away!! Where will I go to see an Elephant that won't cost me the price of a plane ticket? Where will the kids go? Maggie doesn't like company - she's happy alone in her hole like me at work - alone in my hole.

CR - we're obsessed with her because when we first got her it was her only chance to live. Her mother was killed, and she would have been too if we didn't take her. Now we're getting hassled by the bunny-humpers to get her out of here!

"To be frankly honest, i can't stand it how everyone is so earnest to move Maggie out of the state and Bob Barker coming up here and forking out 3/4 or a million dollars to move her. Everyone has been thinking about how happy she will be once she is there, but what about her being transported? Maggie is getting old for an elephant and they will have to give her drugs to keep her calm during the trip. What if she doesn't survive the more then 5,000 mile trip to get there? Then what? Then it will be on all of these activists shoulders that what they wanted caused the death of an animal. She has lived her all of her life. Why take her from her home and put her in a crate where she could die while being transported? What if the other elephants don't accept her? What if her body can't aclimate to the warmer climate? What if she becomes severly ill? Then what? But then again, everyone that wants her moved are only thinking about how happy she will be when she gets there...if she makes it there."
All the other comments were all gung ho about moving her to CA, but if she's ok there and she's not in any danger, WHY MOVE HER??!!

Dawn - most of the people leaving comments on that discussion board are bunny-huggers. There were a few Alaskans on there but then the bunny-huggers ran a muck and we left.

Bob Barker is a lot older than Maggie, and probably doesn't even really know why he is in Alaska right now. Maybe he thinks Maggie is some young chick he can hit on!
