November 2, 2007)--A police investigator says a car owned by a Nebraska middle school teacher has crossed the California border into Mexico.
The female teacher is believed to be on the run with a 13-year-old student.
Police have been investigating whether the two had an intimate relationship.
According to the Lexington, Neb. Police Department, authorities were contacted about the allegations last week.
The school had reason to believe that 25-year-old Kelsey Peterson was having some sort of relationship with 13-year-old Fernando Rodriguez an eighth grade student.
Peterson was placed on administrative leave on Thursday.
After investigating, authorities were issued a warrant Monday for Peterson's arrest, but could not find her.
Lexington Police said that the boy's family reported him missing on Saturday and that they believe he was with the teacher.
Reports on Monday put them in Denver.
They are believed to be in a white four-door 2006 Pontiac with Nebraska plates 18-K16.
There is a felony warrant out for Peterson who is charged with kidnapping, child abuse, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
So I guess what I can't understand is why would a 25 year old want a 13 year old sexually?? This kid has no clue how bad this will mess him up! And WTF is she thinking?? People like this make me sick. She has got to know the difference between a kids crush on a teacher and love, right? People are just so EFFING stupid!

This is wrong on every level and she will pay for her stupidity. However, this kid is a hero to his classmates. Banging the teacher, going to Mexico and banging the teacher etc etc. I do not believe for one minute this will screw the kid up mentally. His head, the one on his shoulders, will probably swell considerably upon returning to school. Think about it. 8th grade boy banging the teacher. She’s not the hottest teacher that has done this but the picture depicts a cute lady at least. Boys are boys. At 13 years old all they think about are their hot teachers naked. On the other hand, 25 year old man + 13 year old girl, I have a bigger problem with. It’s a double standard I know but such is life.

I think it's wrong whether the teacher is a man OR a woman but I gotta agree with slappy on it probably not screwing up the kid (at least not as much as it would screw up a girl.....girls are generally taught to look a sex very differently than boys). One of my nephews is 13 and he's about as far away from wanting to play with toys as it gets.

Banging the teacher is a big fantasy for boys. Remember the old Van Halen song "Hot for Teacher"? Interesting double standard that it's almost acceptable for a boy to bang his female teacher, but not for girls to be with a male teacher.

The notion that boys are not victims, ever, that they love it and will even fare better for the experience of having been a victim of statatory rape at a young age is harmful for boys and men in general. It presupposes that men are impervious to victimization. It is wrong by ALL in the field of psychology. If you have a degree in psychology and would actually claim otherwise, you had better come up with some serious scientific study to support your claim because you would be laughed out of the place without it. That goes for any claim of such magnitude. Show the evidence or shut up. I have a very good friend who was victimized as a child and he has never recovered. He has recently gone public with his story and the very high ranking public figure who abused him is now dead but that doesn't stop the relatives from continuing the abuse by claiming it could never have happened. The funny thing is that over a dozen other men have now joined in revealing what that person did to them as well. STILL the relatives and others in the community defend.
It's real and it is devastating whether to a young child who is female OR male. Claiming otherwise is PURE IGNORANCE.

I guess it depends on the age of the victim and how "willing" they are with the adult that does this to them, if it has any bad long term effects on them. not to say it's right, but some of these kids are willing participants and probably will suffer no effects from it other than a broken heart and maybe get a little wiser.

Like I posted on a similar thread, us guys had a word for kids like this in high school, "Lucky Bastard". If I had a chance to hook up with a hot teacher when I was 13 I would have definitely taken it. Over and over again. Boys at that age are quite literally certifiably insane. The hormone load would kill a grown man (but he'd die happy! ). At that age you'd bang a knothole in a 2x4, pick out the splinters and go again. Sex is the ONLY thing on your mind. Lesson: KEEP YOUR DAUGHTERS AWAY FROM TEENAGE BOYS! They may like your daughter's personality, they may act polite and respectful, but ultimately they have just ONE objective.
Granted, the teacher is probably a complete nutcase, but the kid will probably be fine. Yes, it would be different if the genders were swapped, yes it's a double standard, but the world is full of those. 13 year old boys and 13 year old girls look at sex in very different ways. That's not societal, it's biological. Despite our attempts to androgenize the population, boys/men are different than girls/women. We think differently. We act differently. We feel differently. It's taken a million years to evolve into who we are, 30 years of social engineering won't change it. Accept and get over it.
