what kind of animal does this to someone?

I cried when I read this.  I hadn't heard this story before.

I can only imagine what this little girl went through as this was happening.  My daughter will be five on Thursday and I could NOT even fathom something like this happening to her!!

I will NEVER understand ...

I will NEVER understand how someone can do something so horrible to someone so defenseless. My son is 4 (he'll be 5 in March) and one of my nephews is 5. They are so helpless and defenseless when they're that young. How could he do that to her? Cases like that are the reason I long for the days when capital punishment was painful. After his lengthy appeals, he'll simply receive an IV and go to sleep. I think that for one day they should place him in with the general population of the prison. People who commit crimes against children are the lowest of the low in the prison hierarchy......he would suffer the slow and painful death he deserves.

I dunno misslisa, I've ...

I dunno misslisa, I've read lethal injection isn't as painless as we;re lead to believe.

The only thing I've ever ...

The only thing I've ever heard is painful is getting the IV put in....Florida actually stopped executions for a few years because of it (which I think is bullshit.....if that's cruel and unusual punishment, more people would be suing their doctors for malpractice because their IV hurt. Everytime I've had an IV, it took 4 or 5 tries to get it in...and, yes, it hurt like hell). The condemned is given Sodium thiopental, which is an anesthesia, to put them to sleep. Then they're given Pancuronium bromide, which is a paralizing agent, then finally given Potassium chloride to stop the heart. Since the condemned is unconscious when the lethal drug is given, I would imagine everything after the IV is pretty painless.

i still believe in an eye ...

i still believe in an eye for an eye. for criminals that are proven without a doubt to have commited a crime, they should be punished the same way.

I TOTALLY agree with ...

I TOTALLY agree with conanabanana! The punishment should fit the crime. I think a needle in the arm is the easy way out. Who gives a shit if it hurts!! I'm sure that precious little girl went through hell while she died slowly - being chomped to death with jaws that can produce over 200 pounds of pressure! I think they should drive his sorry ass WWAAYYYYyyyyyy out into the Everglades with no supplies, no chance of finding his way out and let him ROT! One less scumbag in our prison system. POS!

Handcuffs and shackles and ...

Handcuffs and shackles and into the gator pond. Not big gaters that can do the job in one bite, but smaller ones that will take a while.

The sad part is we can’t ...

The sad part is we can’t just take him out behind the courthouse and put a bullet in his head. Or better yet, take him to alligator alley and drop his no good ass in there till he’s dead. I would pay big bucks to get to see that. And they should bring a group of juvenile offenders to watch too.

Bullet in the head would ...

Bullet in the head would be too easy....he needs to suffer....I'm all for tying a few cinderblocks to his hands and feet (so he can still breath, the Everglades are pretty shallow) and tossing his ass in the swamp.

THAT should be Florida's form of execution! We've already got the gators and cinderblocks and rope cost much less than lethal injection drugs.

<p>Lethal injection, as I ...

Lethal injection, as I understand it, involves multiple drugs each designed to do different things. One is supposed to prevent the inmate from expriencing pain, while another paralizes the patient's body restricting breathing. I've read that in an estimated 50% of cases the first drug doesn't work, which means the prisoner is very aware of what is happening to them. A fitting punishment here I think.

true!

true!

I still think lethal ...

I still think lethal injection's too easy....regardless of whether the anesthesia works.

I still think the cinderblocks and the alligators is a great idea!
