Why is that when a female is irresponsible enough to part her legs for a male, that she is SURPRISED or SHOCKED to find that, by golly, THAT'S how you get PREGNANT?!?!

And as for her mother saying Jamie's always been so conscientious -- about what? Taking her BIRTH CONTROL or NOT HAVING SEX?

I'll tell you WHY I'm speechless...after all her OWN sister is going through, you'd THINK she'd be more CAREFUL!! and the guy is 19!!!!
she has so much going for her with the show on nickelodeon and now she's lucky if she ever works again!! she WAS a role model!

As for adult having sex with kids - it all depends on the state laws. In Alaska it's legal to be with a 15 year old. That's our laws though. Some states have a 3-year age difference rule. If he's over 18, she can be no more then 3 years younger.

In Texas and just about the rest of the states the age of sexual consent is 17. Some southern states it's 15; and evidently Alaska is 15 as well. But yea, I'm not shocked by this news but I am a bit sad for that family. Stardom has absolutely destroyed that family. Actually the mothers inability to teach her children about responsibility is more to blame because lots of child and otherwise younger stars turn out just fine. Lack of parenting skills infests all socioeconomic levels.

The thing that really gets MY goat is that the media is making SUCH a big deal about this..with pics of the happy couple all over the media!!

SHE IS A MINOR..and Mother Spears HAD to have signed something releasing the photos of the so called, "Happy Couple"....

I can imagine Mother Spears received a MAJOR PAYOUT for THAT one!!
