What's wrong with this picture?

The Wire is filmed just two miles from my house. This story bothers me. Or, as my black friends would say, it gets next to me.

The Wire’s ‘Snoop’ is a witness in Baltimore City murder trial

I was raised from age 6 in this town (Columbia, MD) that was intentionally designed to be INCLUSIVE, anything but segregated and biased etc. It was at a time, 1967 when my family moved here when there were still segregated schools and neighborhoods that you either could not buy a house in if you weren't white - PERIOD - or where, if you did, the residents would say "there goes the neighborhood" and something called "white flight" would ensue - they'd rush to leave expecting the property values would drop (and they usually did) so they'd take off for digs further out in the suburbs. Columbia was different. Here we don't know those ways. We don't do like that. The only reason I even know if it is from what I read in the news as I have  always been a news-junkie.

I've had many black friends and I HATE to see this sort of story repeat itself over an over in the press. We see whites all the time committing crimes, often stealing millions, hundreds of millions, even Billions of dollars and yet how many times do we see them like the rappers involved in murders on the street like this deal here? Of course both are wrong but this stuff just gets to me, gets "next to me" as they say, in a way I can't explain. It's so senseless.

If you read the story you might be interested to also know by the way that "The Block" in Baltimore is just a city block up from the Inner Harbor that was revitalized by Columbia's founder James Rouse who lived right down my street. As a child I trick or treated at his townhouse where he lived before moving there. "The Block" happens to also reside DIRECTLY next door to the Baltimore City police department and City Hall. That should tell you something. The red light district, the biggest concentration of strip clubs and whores is DIRECTLY next door! The corruption there could not be more evident if anyone tried to make it so!

And this actress is now just another caught up in it all. All those expletives in her statement... She's no "star". Why must the show biz powers that be choose these types to hold up as such? Surely there are others who aren't involved in street crimes, drugs and murders who an act those parts? Its this all by chance? If not, then why do they do it? Normally, actors an actresses are vetted with regard to their integrity. This one is just another in a long list that makes me wonder.
