have you heard?

I don't know if you guys know but there's supposed to be some "national" strike against the price of gas tomorrow where we are NOT supposed to buy gas ANYWHERE! so fill up today! and also someone also told me that we shouldn't buy Exxon or Citgo EVER so we DON'T support Arab oil. I'm not sure about all that but I'm, not buying ANY gas tomorrow.

I have gotten things about ...

I have gotten things about this in Email off an on for awhile. I had not heard anything about tomorrow. I found this on the urban legand site (snopes):

http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/strike.asp

I also read somewhere that Dodge (i think) made a prottype vehicle that gets 100 mpg. It was funky looking, but who cares at 100 mpg. The article stated they had no plans to produce the vehicle. WHAT???? why go to the expense, publish the information and then not produce it? Hello??? have they missed teh fact that gas prices are soaring? We need to work on better fuel economy.

i had heard about that on ...

i had heard about that on facebook (theres a group in there regarding it) and there was someone who posted saying that all gas stations purchase from one main company, so it wouldnt matter if you bought from one over another. i dont know whats true or not. i dont care. im getting my gas when i need it wherever i happen to be.

I've heard of this but it ...

I've heard of this but it has zero impact on the gas company profits. To even dent their profits we would have to do this for a month or so. Then it would be a minor dent. Sometimes ya just gotta grin and bear it as you're getting plowed up the rear.

It doesn't matter who you ...

It doesn't matter who you buy from, they're all getting profits. Look at how things run up here on the slope. We have numerous companies working to get the oil out, but they ALL make the same profit. They are in a contract to work together and will not ever get any better then splitting profits.

Not buying gas tomorrow doesn't do anything to these companies. I mean think about it, you don't buy gas EVERY day. You can buy it today instead of tomorrow, or you can buy it in three days from now instead of tomorrow. Either way you're buying gas. Now get everyone in the USA to stop buying for a month, and MAYBE it would do something. That won't happen though. It all goes back to supply and demand.

I'll be filling up tonight. I don't ever let my tank get below half though, due to the fuel filter. Just general good car things.

i don't think that not ...

i don't think that not buying gas for one day will even be noticed by the gas companies. yeah, it would take us all switching to bicycles before they would take notice. if i lived closer to work i would use a bike but 25 miles is a bit far. at least for me.

mry, ditto. i would love ...

mry, ditto. i would love to bike to work, especially in this loverly weather. but 26 miles round trip is too far. expecially when nearly all of it is busy roads. too dangerous.
