Miricle Whip and Lack of Gravity

I started buying Miricle Whip in the plastic container that has the lid on the bottom, and you squeeze to get it out. I noticed that I was starting to run low the other day (I got the beloved fart sound from it). I figured that being gravity exists on our great planet that it also effects Miricle Whip. One would think that being Miricle Whip is heavier then air it would slide to the bottom of the container, hence the purpose of the lid on the bottom.

Nope, not true. Apparently Miricle Whip is lighter then air, and does not slide to the bottom. I went home for lunch today, and thought I was out half way through making my sandwich. I took the lid off and there was TONS of Miricle Whip left in there. So, just like I had to do on the old BIG containers that opened from the top, I had to stick my knife in there to get it out. Well, unlike the old containers that open from the top, the opening is MUCH smaller on the ones that open from the bottom, making it near impossible to get more out, and TOTALLY impossible to get to the top of the container. Can someone explain to me why we put the lid on the bottom if Miricle Whip is not effected by gravity?

I hate that as well. What I do when I buy those is that I will tap it onto the counter top to get all the contents to shake down to the bottom so that I can use it.

I usually just buy the regular jars with the wide mouth lids on it, and when it gets down to the bottom, I use a spatula to reach down there get it out and spread it onto my sandwich. This way its longer, and I don't get all messy by using the butter knife.

I bought Hellmans Mayo in a container like that AK and you are right. I thought mine was empty too so had to stick the butter knife in there to get some out, thank goodness I had bought an actual jar of it too so I am not using that and the other one is sitting in the fridge. I guess I will empty that one, one of these days..lol
But it does get the knife all messy trying to get it out of there..Maybe putting a long spoon in it will be better.

i only bought that bottle one time because of that. i don't like fighting to get the stuff out.
