Is this so hard to figure out? I mean come on! I don't have a doctorate but here's my simple take: babies say ma-ma and da-da first because they are the easiest words to say.

Where do these people get their degrees out of Craker Jack boxes? Whats even worse is that someone is guliable enough to have given money for this study. God must have wore out the stupid stick with with this bunch.

The Millions of dollars that were spent on this crap could have went for Cancer, AIDS, or even Diabetes research.

Exactly WalterTH3RD...our kids are going to learn exactly what we teach them!!

It's not like they're programmed to say one day, "Mamma" or "Daddy"...

If parents taught them to say, "Mommy/Daddy."..that's what they'd say..

However..if Mommy taught her child to say, "You're an idiot.." they'd probably say "Idiot" too!!

Question: What if we didn't take the time to teach our kids any kind of speaking skills at all?

Do these scientists think that babies are programmed??

walter, thats so sad for that kid. i can totally relate. my mom would yell at me about my grades and tell me, "youre going to end up without a degree, no money, and moving in a small house in Hillside!" well, thats exactly what my mom did. she has no degree, no money, and lives in a small house in Hillside. to me, she was venting her frustration on how miserable she was. she grew up in a wealthy household. not stinking rich, but comfortable. at 18 she got married to my dad (who she used to bad-mouth all the time, still does, actually) and ended up on food stamps for a while.

no wonder im anti-social and akward. lol.
