does anyone know if those blu-ray dvd players also play regular dvd's or ONLY blu ray dvd's?  QVC's special value today is a blu ray dvd player for about 250.00 which isn't bad considering when they first came out they wanted over $1000.00 for one 2 years ago.

Blu Ray will play pretty ...

Blu Ray will play pretty much anything a DVD player will play; DVD's, CD's, DVD Audio, Photo disks. Divx is supported by some models but not all so if you use Divx check to see if the player you want will use it.

If I may, watch out for which player you're getting. Get a model that has the 2.0 profile or is upgradeable to it. Newer Blu-Ray Disc will be 2.0 and may not play on older profiles. Just ask the salesman in the store he'll know what I'm talking about.

Whats really cool is that Blu Ray Prices just droped in price from $399 to $299 or less. Now for $399 you get the Sony Playstation 3 that will play hi def games AND is also a Blu Ray Player.

I should mentioned that not only can Blu-Ray play DVD's but they will also ENHANCE or upconvert a standard DVD to look better!

true I did know that. the dvd player I have now has HDMI cables to go with my hdtv to make the regular dvd's look awesome!
