Sorry to hear you had to ...

Sorry to hear you had to deal with that...

I think there needs to be a law against paying with strictly pennies. When I worked in the grocery store we had a kid that always would try to do that. He would seriously pull out a ziplock bag full of pennies (and other things that I will not name) and he would pour them on the counter and try to pay. After seeing some pubes I told him "sorry, you'll have to change your money into a higher denomination before we can help you". The managers had my back after hearing there were pubes in the bag!!

Pubes?? Yuck. That would ...

Pubes?? Yuck. That would get my goat too!!

However..when it come to Grandma in front of me in line...I'll grow some patience...because that might be MY grandma..my dad..OR my mom.

Although it ticks me off all the time when I see old people in front of me holding up the line..(they do it all the time)..fishing for pennies out of their worn out wallets in order to come up with the exact change.

I know we're all in a hurry...but in their world...this is how they saw their parents do it..so swallow your pride..hang on a minute..and let grandma have her day!!

Whoah, whoah, whoah Tim! ...

Whoah, whoah, whoah Tim! It didn't matter the lady's age only that I had a lmited amount of time, remember I was on my way to work, ordinarily I wouldn't have cared but I had to get to work. I wish the stores had services in place to deal with this stuff, like ringing the order up then sending the person to customer service to complete the purchase or having an employee take the money over to the coin sorter.

I don't care what age they ...

I don't care what age they are if they don't apologize to those behind them then they are an inconsiderate ass.

I do also feel the same way about how it's someone's mom or grandmom and could just as well be mine. Still, I know mine would not do that or, if they ever were so possessed to do that, they would at least beg forgiveness from the cashier and anyone behind them in line. Better yet, were someone behind in line who looked in the least bit to be in a hurry, they'd offer to let them go first. That's how it's done. I've had someone offer to let me go and I've offered to let others go when one has a single item or two or three and the other has a full basket and there's only one cashier at the time. That's just how decent people are towards each other.

still even grandma gotta ...

still even grandma gotta know that just ISN'T right! she KNEW she was gonna hold up the line! you CAN'T DO stuff like that! she should have gone to the bank FIRST to get dollars for it. or if she couldn't then she should have gone to the cust serv counter to have them change the money BEFOREHAND.

eh-some people think ...

eh-some people think because they are seniors they can do whatever the heck they want. A friend of mine was getting a prescription filled and there was a line. The man behind asked him if he'd let him go in front of him because he's a senior! My friend asked if he was diabetic and was about to pass out without his meds. The man said no. He then asked if he needed anything urgently. The man said no. My friend told him no (He was on a lunch break and had to get back). The guy pitched a fit and was yelling about how no one respects seniors anymore. My brother and I have a saying-"If you demand, you don't get". Although that should only apply to kids, not adults but it seems more adults than kids are like that.

I was in line at a grocery store and the woman behind me was yelling about how she had to wait her turn! Now, she was old, yes, and I totally repect my elders, but she wasn't frail or sickly or having a hard time with stuff. She just wanted special treatment because she's old. You should have seen the look on her face when I started mimicking her. "I'm old! I don't have to wait my turn! I'm old! I don't have to show manners! I'm old! I don't need to show my grandchild who's with me how to behave in public!"

She said "I don't have to take that!" and went to another line. After I checked out she still had a long wait in her new line and I said to her "See! If you would have waited here you'd be checking out right now!". I don't feel proud of myself but I don't feel bad. Shame on her! A lot of people gave me a thumbsup on the way out. My husband was flabbergasted. I'm sorry but I've had it to HERE with rude people and I'll be damned if I'll be the bad guy because I spoke up!
