TV Show Helps Lost Boy Survive in Woods

I read about that yesterday. I can't imagine how scared I would be at 9 years old and lost in the woods. On the flip side, it kind of saddens me that this boy learned it from a tv show rather than his dad or another adult. If you're going horseback riding in the woods, I would think that survival training would be something they would at least briefly go over.
