As Seen on TV
First off these products have the most annoying pitchmen.
Secondly they say these items are available ONLY on Tv but can bought in any discount store including Wal-Mart.
Third, haven't these products been around before? Sham Wows, for example, used to be called Chamois (sp). The Onion Buddy has been around for years with different names and designs but its still the same thing.

I was watching Pitchmen the other day and there was a cool thing on there. The dual-blade saw. It was a handheld power saw that had two blades that rotated in opposing directions. No kickback and a perfect cut each time. The dude cut a car in half. It was awesome!

So true, rkinne, but it seems each new generation falls for it, so I reckon it works.

You betcha!! The rich guy wouldn't be on tv if it wasn't working..and he's been on tv for YEARS...being a very rich man!! Although it's not called Ronco anymore..what's it called??
I was a pitchman
I was a pitchman for over 25 years. In fact, i was the FIRST to have the Chamois, man made chamois, Sham-wow, miracle cloth. Whatever name you want, i was the first to have it. we did not have a good pitch with it then and did not do well and gave it up.. about 5 years later, a pitch was developed and we and everyone else kicked ass.
as for pitchman, i dont know why you knock a guy who came up with an idea, and a way to sell it and is making more money per mintues than most people make per week. dont bitch. he is just making a living. and a good one.
about 15 years ago the pitch business changed. We used to get the items, work out the kinks, sell them for a year or two or more, BEFORE they went on TV and then another year or two before the stores get them. NOW the stores get them almsot before we do. good for them, bad for us,
We still sell more in a week of any TV product at a state fair than your local walgreens does in a year. PITCHING WORKS!!
You're Right....
..because the public at large is too damn lazy to look at what they're ordering.
