Talk about Bad Parenting!!
Ok people..went to fill my car up with gas Sunday night..no special plans going on..just an empty tank of gas…
Coming around the corner..what do I see but a TWO year old walking up the middle of the street.
I parked my car and walked up to the little one so as not to scare him/her and said, "Where's Mama?"
The kid just looked at me…
I looked around and there was no parent to be found, aside from a bunch of laughing going on in a backyard where I assumed this little one belonged to.
So I picked up the child and walked towards the backyard…found people casually walking in the front….so I said, "Any chance this little one belongs to you??"
This girl (that couldn't have been more than 10 years old says to me..)…"Nice job on leaving your car door wide open.."
I said, "This child was walking right up the middle of the street…does she belong to you??"
The 10 year old takes the kid..and says, 'HE'..and you might wanna shut your car door so somebody doesn't take it off on their way past here.."
Again I said, "I didn't want him to get hit by a car..how old is he..like TWO??..and what the heck is he doing walking up the street on his own??"
Ponytailed Daddy says, "Ok…who wasn't watching him??"..and then looks at me like I was in the process of kidnapping his ugly kid.
Again I said, "I didn't know who's child this was…but he was walking right up the middle of the road…I didn't want to frighten him..but I didn't want him to get hit either….thus I picked him up rather than let him stand in the middle of the street.
Ponytailed Daddy says, "Well, I'll be the judge of that…btw thanks..and then says to his 10 year old, 'Ok..who wasn't watching him??"
What..like your 10 year old? Sounded to me like they were having the time of their lives in the backyard and..out of the blue…little boy decides to walk up the driveway and into the street where people tool around all the time at like…40 mph sometimes.
Nice parenting. Real nice. In a perfect world, I'd write a book about these people! But then again, I'd have to share the profits since these idiots would never let me write a book about them without getting royalties!

Another Dumb Study on OUR Dime.
htt p://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/whyaremamaanddadaababysfirstwords
Is this so hard to figure out? I mean come on! I don't have a doctorate but here's my simple take: babies say ma-ma and da-da first because they are the easiest words to say.
Where do these people get their degrees out of Craker Jack boxes? Whats even worse is that someone is guliable enough to have given money for this study. God must have wore out the stupid stick with with this bunch.
The Millions of dollars that were spent on this crap could have went for Cancer, AIDS, or even Diabetes research.

Latest update on the baseball pitcher kid
In an interview with his mother today she revealed what sounds like the motive for the whole deal.
First, she says, there are older pitchers who pitch even faster than her son and have hit batters. Supposedly there were fears her son would hit a batter but he has never done so. It also just so happens to turn out that a competing team, one with an older pitcher who pitches faster and has hit batters - his father is the coach and he also just happens to be the league president! LOL!
It reminds me so much of my nephews' and my son's soccer team two years ago. They were coached by my brother who knows stuff. He is an attorney and knows so many people, he knew about one coach who set the play schedule. My brother's, nephew's and son's team had been the undefeated champs for a few years and suddenly comes this other coach setting the schedules. The schedule for their undefeated team was made to be the absolute worst and it was weird how they'd play only the top rated teams and repeatedly while that guy's team played all the easiest teams. So now the guy, who had been a high school teacher too, is spending his days in jail. It turns out he molested one female student, took nude photos of a boy student, tried to fondle him and see him after school, outside of school and molested a third student, another boy, repeatedly but that one won't testify it was so bad. I know the story and it was really bad and ongoing for years.
Cosmic justice, or just legal justice?
See, I never got too upset about the whole team schedule thing because I knew that one day that ass would get his. Now I'm sure his ass is getting plenty in jail. Inmates have a very special way of treating child molesters.
Kind of makes me wonder about that baseball league president. He doesn't seem to have a very kind spirit either to say the least, not when doing what he is doing to that fine young pitcher.

PELOSI AND DRILLING
Looks like conservatives aren't the only ones getting roughed up here in Denver. Nancy Pelosi had a little episode outside of a press event yesterday. Demonstrators started chanting "Drill here! Drill now!" and Nancy would have none of it. She apparently paused and asked the group if they wanted to drill right here … "Can we drill your brains?"
Then she resorted a bit of name-calling, referring to the protestors as "handmaidens of Big Oil" and the "two-cents-in-ten-years-crowd." Clearly that is what our energy future means to Nancy Pelosi. A majority of Americans support increased offshore drilling. Over a million Americans have signed Newt Gingrich's petition … and yet all of these people are just "handmaidens of Big Oil."
Why didn't Pelosi just stop to explain to these demonstrators that she's trying to save the planet? That's big stuff here in Colorado.

Or how about this TGIX?
The Obama campaign has had to deal with a little hiccup in the days leading to his acceptance speech in Denver. The American Issues Project, a nonprofit group, created an ad linking Barack Obama to Bill Ayers. The timing could not be more perfect considering the current effort to deny access to files that would detail Obama and Ayers relationship on the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge.
Moving right along … so this ad ran on about 150 local stations, and the disciples of the Chosen One have thrown a fit. So has the Obama campaign. In fact, Obama launched his own response ad. Fine. But the Obama campaign also tried to block the ads from being aired by warning station managers and asking the Justice Department to intervene. The Justice Department? The campaign also plans to go after the station's advertisers in order to pressure the stations that continue to air the Obama-Ayers commercial.
The Obama camp has now sent, not one, but two letters to the Justice Department, directly attacking the man who funded the ad, Harold Simmons. Simmons also happens to be one of the main funders of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. Apparently this is Obama's version of not being "Swiftboated." The letter, calling the group's actions "patently illegal" for using footage of an Ayers documentary, reads:
"We reiterate our request that the Department of Justice fulfill its commitment to take prompt action to investigate and to prosecute the American issues Project, and we further request that the Department of Justice investigate and prosecute Howard (sic) Simmons for a knowing and willful violation of the individual aggregate contribution limits." Persecute him!

Everyone please forgive me on the excessive political rants I am about to go on.
The pure democratic party.
Old videos appear to show a radical Muslim named Khalid Al-Mansour helped Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama gain acceptance into Harvard Law.
Civil rights activist Percy Sutton recalled being solicited by a man named Dr. Khalid A-Mansour to write a letter of recommendation to help Obama gain acceptance into Harvard Law in this undated television interview available HERE.
"I was introduced to him [Obama] by a friend who was raising money for him and the friends name was Dr. Khalid al Mansour from Texas,” Sutton said. “He is the principle adviser to one of the world's richest men. He told me about Obama. He wrote to me about him and his introduction was 'there is a young man that has applied to Harvard and I know that you have a few friends left there because you used to go up there to speak, would you please write a letter in support of him?'…I wrote a letter in support of him to my friends at Harvard saying to them I thought there was a genius that was going to be available and I sure hoped they would treat him kindly."
There are many videos available on the internet featuring a man named Khalid Al-Mansour, who describes himself as an author, scholar and businessman, blasting the Jewish culture and Christianity and preaching the virtues of Islam, reminiscent of the controversial clips discovered of Obama’s longtime friend and former pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright that rocked headlines earlier this spring.
In one of the videos, titled “Christians Designed Discrimination” uploaded by a YouTube user named IslamStudios, Al-Mansour said, “White people don't feel bad, whatever you do to them, they deserve it, God wants you to do it and that's when you cut out the nose, cut out the ears, take flesh out of their body, don't worry because God wants you to do it."
He also draws lines between whites and African Americans. “The Christianity that white people got and the Christianity that black people got was not the same,” he added.
In this video, Al-Monsour said white people fear Islam. “The whites are saying we can’t take over Islam, we are going to destroy it. They don’t care if you become a Buddhist, they don’t care if you are a Confuscist, you can be a Christian, you can be anything in this world you want, the only thing they are afraid of is Islam because there is 1 billion 200 million, they don’t want you with that league!
In another video, posted July 1, Al-Mansour styles himself as a political analyst, advising former president Bill Clinton when, where and how Clinton should endorse Obama for president. http://www.youtube.com/watch?

Is it me or is TGIX getting more fruity?
TGIX has posted more then his usaul political rants today. Not to mention
that Zogby, Rassmussen and Gallop have McCain ahead now. Man can you imagine the
downer TGIX is giong experience if Obama loses? I fear he might commit suicide.
We can only hope.
Walter is right there is not much difference between the
parties. TGIX is still one of those old fossil who believe that the democratic
party is all pure and no evil. Even thought Bill Clinton boffed a 19 year old
girl yet I am sure he defended that action.
Or the selling of nuclear secrets to China I am sure he defended that. Or I am sure he defended all of Clintons foriegn policy failures. Nope it is getting old. You would think by now he would learn that NO ONE GIVES A F UCK ABOUT HIS CONSTANT RANTING on political issues. I can see once or twice a week but every f ucking day?

Thank you republicans! LOL!
It never fails. They manipulate things like the durable goods report to boost confidence in them during an election year (I'm sure both sides do it to some extent) but this time it's so unbelievable. Regardless, I knew it would happen and was ready. It wasn't quite as high as when it is actually in the positive and just "enhanced" a little but the boost the report gave the market gave me the opportunity that I had to role with. $658.24 was my take by selling 10,000 shares of a "penny stock" in a therapeutic pharmaceutical around an hour before market closing. That's how it seems to usually go for the peaks, then investors tend to sell - take the money and run. Less than $9k I put in just a couple of months ago is now over 10, quickly going on 11K. That's a rate of return in the double digits on such a short term that if it were to continue over a year could amount to the equivalent of a 100% interest rate!
Thank you republican liars! I've got your number! Dinner's on YOU tonight and it'll be fresh MD steamed crabs, every crack of the mallet in celebration too. LOL!
I'm going to park the cash now until after the real reports come out showing the retail abyss. The back to school sales are going to be lower than in many many years and Labor Day sales won't help much at all. You're going to see more retail bankruptcies than ever in any of our lifetimes. Christmas season sales will be overall bleak too.
Now it will be until a month or two after the election before it'll be at all safe to get back into the market. Then people will see hope again.
Mark my words and hold me to it. If only it were legal here I'd be
willing to bet real money on it. In fact I am though, just not directly with you
but in and out of the market. So far I've been doing pretty well, got my
finger on the pulse of how things are. Sometimes it's pretty fun (and
profitable) to be right.

More for those scholars who love to debate this stuff to bat around. It ought to be interesting to see what comes out of it. Amazing that we're able to still read such ancient records thousands of years later and that it takes some of the highest digital photo technology of the day to do so. Wonderful that they're going to share it worldwide on the internet for all to see.

prison and our tax dollars will feed and house them for years and

yesterday
it turned out to be pretty cool for a birthday. haven't had a real good one in a while. I had to work, but it was ok cuz my co-workers surprised me with a cake and ice cream! when I got home, I had a couple of b-day cards, one from David's parents with 50 bucks in it and another from David and the kids with a $50 itunes gift card! I already had a cake at home as well. Later we went out to eat with the kids to Miyako, a hibachi restaurant!! it was so cool and fun to watch the guy put on a show with the food. the kids LOVED it and I hadn't been to one since I was a kid. the food wasn't bad either. it was a little pricey (116.00), but what the hell, it was a special occasion.
along with all of this, David had an interview with Shell Motiva (a chemical plant) and they HIRED him. he should start in Oct.!!! so bye bye Fedex for him. he was so happy and excited. that's the job he wanted cuz he did his internship there. I'd say all in all, it was a good day. AND today I'm off from work so I get to chill today! maybe get my nails done and wash my truck. Life can be good when you least expect it!

Okay, it is getting time I think. . .
to take a MUCH closer look at my marriage! There! I said it! Here is what is happening - my wife just had her 43rd birthday Monday. Now, all last week she kept telling me I was FORBIDDEN to do anything or BUY anything for her. After ten YEARS of marriage (well ten years this October) I finally LISTENED! I got her NOTHING, no card, no flowers, no present! So what do I get in return? I scathing email when I got home (well back to my hotel, as I am still away in training) saying that I am NOT the kind of husband she expected me to be forgetting to do anything for her birthday even as far as getting her a card or flowers or anything! WTF?!?!?! It isn't like I wasn't TOLD by her CONSTANTLY to do EXACTLY WHAT I DID!
So tell me, women of PEEVES, what exactly did I do 'wrong'? Should I
have just done what I normally would do and IGNORE her?
She told ME that I should not call her because she wasn't interested in
hearing from me anytime in the near future and that she would have to
'THINK' about where we are! Now, I am not paranoid or anything, but dang
if she doesn't sound like she is about to move out while I am up here!
On the other hand, I know she gets all 'squirrelly' when it is that time of the month for her (she did just buy the stuff for when that starts) AND she was SICK on her birthday to top it all off, but I only have so much patience and have put up with this and worse over the past ten years and SHE STILL DOESN'T GET IT!
I am NOT a psychic, I do NOT read minds, I am ONLY human, what did I do? Next
time, I will just ignore whatever she tells me and do what I do and deal with
any repercussions! GRRRRRR
WE
ARE NOT IN HIGH SCHOOL ANYMORE!!! I didn't play those games when I WAS in
high school!!!
Alright, NOW I have to hit the hay, I gotta WORK at 8 tomorrow! Hope nobody sets me off, I WILL 'KILL' somebody if that happens!

Hurricane Gustav
Developing in the Gulf of Mexico could hit right at the start of the republican convention on the third year anniversary of Katrina.
Hmmmmmmm.
The Convention
Governor of Montanna, Brian Schweitzer:
"At a time of skyrocketing fuel prices, when American's are struggling to keep their gas tanks full, John McCain voted 25 times against renewable alternative energy. Against biofuels, against solar energy, he even voted against the wind energy."
John McCain, he says, has taken more than a million dollars from the oil and gas industry. I've read accounts that it has been over 2 million. And at the same time he (John McCain) wants to give these big oil companies 4 BILLION DOLLARS in tax breaks as they make windfall profits and we all suffer.
"We can't drill our way to energy independence. If you drilled everywhere, if you drilled in all of John McCain's backyards, even the ones he doesn't know he has, that single answer proposition is a dry well. America consumes 25% of the oil but has less than 3% of the reserves. There just isn't enough oil in America on land or off shore to meet our needs"
"Barak Obama understands that the most important barrel of oil is the one that you don't use".
And he continues about Obama's green fuel sources that are proven to work and will create more jobs here in our country while oil jobs send our jobs and our money fueling terrorists overseas. Obama will bring our country energy independence.
Then Schweitzer says "America needs energy independance. The Petrol dictators will never own the American Wind or Sunshine."
OH MY GOD! That was such a glorious line!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Later on, many amazing quotes from Senator Hillary Clinton in her
outstanding oration. but I'm tired, need to be up at 4:30am tomorrow so
I'll just list one, the single one liner that will stick. Count on it being
in headlines all over and bumper stickers and posters and repeated more times
than anyone can count:
"No Way No How
No McCain"

DAWN—ARE YOU READY!!!!!
Dawny, my friend— I am not ready for this as I'm sure you are not. Hubby came home tonight and said his company (Lowe's) is gearing up big time for Gustav. He said people are already buying gas cans. I have to go fill propane tanks tomorrow. I'm going to check with a Hurricane Hunter who lives close to us and see if I can find out some more scooby on Gustav.
Peevers, please pray for us. We are not as well protected as we were before Katrina. The majority of our tree barrier is no longer there. Chuck and I will have to evacuate for sure. I'm getting too old for this, kiddos!!!!!!!!!

Now if we could just send them to Canada.
LAUREL, Miss. — Federal officials say nearly 600
suspected illegal immigrants were detained in a raid on a manufacturing plant in
southern Mississippi, making it the largest such sweep in the
country. A spokeswoman says more than 100 of those caught up in Monday's raid on
Howard Industries were released based on humanitarian concerns, mostly because
they have children. Most of the rest were transferred to a federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Jena, La.
Nine 17-year-olds were transferred to the custody of the Office of Refugee
Resettlement. The Mississippi raid was one of a series of recent high-profile crackdowns on
illegal immigrants. In May, officials swept into the
Agriprocessors kosher meatpacking plant in Iowa and detained 400 workers.

BACK FROM CRUISE—HEARTBROKEN!
Had a wonderful time on our first cruise ever until the last few minutes of the cruise. We were on the Empress Deck (E10) on the M/S Holiday. We left our stateroom to disembark two levels down. There were no other guests left on our hallway. We discovered neither of us had our digital camera. My husband ran up the stairs and down the hall. No more than 5 minutes had passed. Our camera was gone! The steam cleaning guy said to my husband, "Forget something?", as he was going to the cabin. As hubby came out the door the same guy said, "Did you find it?" The cabin steward was called and it had not been turned in to him. So we went to the Info Desk and filled out a LOST (my ass) report. As I began to cry, Mr. Goran at the desk cut me off short and only spoke with my husband! The $300 camera is replaceable. What isn't is the nearly 400 pictures I took of our 36th wedding anniversary cruise. I am hoping it will turn up, but have kinda lost hope after finding out another couple LOST? their camera on the same cruise and another guest on the same deck had a writing pen and a hair clip taken from their room. We had decided cruising would be our choice from now on, but that's in doubt for sure. I would have gladly given the darn camera to the crew member or the $300 just to have my pictures back. I am still heartbroken!!!!

It was about some 'new' drug that is being recalled. That part I understand, but the WORDING in the end said, and I am NOT kidding, 'If YOU or someone you know has DIED, give us a call as you MAY be entitled to money.'
So, am I to understand that IF I DIED from said drug, I could be PAID!?!?!?!
And How would I get said compensation? Would the money be BURIED with me?
Wasn't ANYONE PROOFREADING this copy?

Update on Baseball kid…
OK My radio guys are talking about this story right now. Turns out the league this pitcher kid plays on is a confidence building league. It's for kids around the age of 9 that have NEVER played ANY sport before. It's a confidence building league that helps beginners learn the sport so that in a year or so they can play with kids their age that have played before in the past.
The pitcher kid was OFFERED to move up to a different league, and he said NO he didn't want to. They have broken the team up and moved the kids onto other teams. They told the kid that pitches he can play, but NOT pitch, and he said no that he wanted to pitch. So due to hearing the rest of the story, I'm going to change my opinion of it. There is no way this kid is a beginner, and he shouldn't have been on a league that is a confidence builder to help kids LEARN the sport. He should have been on a higher league for his level. No way was this the kids first time touching a baseball!
here's the article: http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2008/08/9-year-old-pitc.html

tropical depression Julio….:)
woo hoo!
I finally got to see that wet stuff fall from the sky last night. We had loud
thunder, some rain (not enough), and a light storn that was awesome!!! It rained
harder North of me so the washes ran and were still running this morning when I
left for work. We are supposed to get more today
. Monsoon season, ahhhh! This is why my family has to
have 4×4's. Once the water starts rising only 4×4 will be able to
make it in/out of my area. Then the mud, oh yea! My jeep will turn to brown
tonight, tomorrow as I go mud boggin back and forth to the mailbox. Woo Hoo! I
can't wait to get off work so I can "play" in the mud and water.
More rain will make it that much better/fun! ![]()

What’s your take on the use of Ritalin?
I am sure there are some of you out there that may have kids that are on it or have been. But I feel rather strongly about my opinion on it, which is, that I don't even think it is a drug that is needed. I think if kids were disciplined more and made to pay attention and to calm down (from the age that they can understand) there would be no need for the drug companies to make this drug and kids to be medicated. (I know those of you who have used it will tell me that you do discipline your kids). Just my opinion!! If a parent can't control the childs behavior then maybe some sort of therapy is needed. After reading about ADHD and its symptoms, they all seem to be, what can be described as, some sort of a behavior problem. For years and years kids have had behavior problems and although Ritalin has been around for years, you didn't hear much about it and I am sure there were hyperactive kids then as there are now, but perhaps Drs. did not know to diagnose it as such. Also parents may have disciplined their kids more back then and taught them right from wrong. I know someone that had her kid on it and took him to a psychiatrist and psychologist for years and the kid is a teen now, and is still a little a**hole. I am involved with someone now that has a child that lives with her mom and the mother medicates her all the time and yet when she comes to our house, she does not get it all weekend and I tell her to go sit down, calm down, if she gets hyper and take things away from her, etc, and discipline her and she's fine. I think the mother just can't make her mind or chooses not to deal with it. We were told that the girl gets the meds whenever her mom takes her anywhere…So medicate the kid instead of whipping her a** and making her mind!!! I don't necessarily believe in spanking, to each their own there, but I did not ever spank my kids. I used other forms of discipline and never had a problem with them being out of control, or disrespect, etc and they are now both adults. They were taught right from wrong early on!
I will admit that I did not read ALL there is about the drug but what I read sums up what it is and what it is for, so not sure how much more there is to know.It does say that it works on some chemical in the brain. It also says that with forms of therapy and the medicine, it treats ADHD..so okay, cut out the meds and do the therapy and teach the child the right and wrong ways to act, to pay attention, etc. I am sure I am going to be told by someone that it's more than that but none the less the kids that I know that are on it or have been, get NO discipline and get medicated and still don't listen, so what's the point in drugs?? I just think there are other ways to deal with hyperactive kids.. Just my opinion!
